Montblanc 144

The Montblanc 144 is a smaller pen than the 146, and has a snap-on cap as opposed to the screw-on version like the Chopin 145, which replaced it. This is a very slim, and very light pen (only 8.4 g, filled!), designed for cartridge filling.

I purchased this pen with a very damaged nib that had obviously taken a direct hit on a floor. The cap also has a crack near the clip, however, I doubt that this is related. Two hours of patient work got the nib back into its current shape. The one possible “cost” was that I had to re-grind it from a medium down to a fine to take care of some of the marks I left in the metal from the manipulation. However, the smoothness of the 144 nib was not lost. So it’s back in shape again!
