Burnham Matador No. 77
These pens are a bit of a mystery to me. The clips on the caps tell me that these are Burnham pens, but the model imprinted on the barrels say that it’s a Matador No. 77, Made in England. I assume that these have nothing to do with the German brand Matador, but that’s just a guess. There’s no mention of this model on the Burnham history pages at the WES however, they certainly have some similar features to the 1950s numbered pens such as the slight taper where the section meets the nib and feeder, and the rounded cap finial.
Despite the fact that they both have the same apparent model number, both the barrels and the caps are slightly different lengths. However, the blind caps and sections are interchangeable.
